Our Curriculum
Thomas Elementary provides a rigorous curriculum, nurturing environment, foreign languages, Expeditionary Learning, active hands-on learning, real-world project-based learning, and leadership skills that you can’t find anywhere else in the state.
Emphasizes reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills to build a strong foundation in literacy. This includes phonics, vocabulary development, comprehension strategies, creative writing, and public speaking.
Encourages inquiry-based learning to foster curiosity about the natural world. Covers topics such as life sciences, physical sciences, earth sciences, and environmental education, with an emphasis on hands-on experiments and field studies.
Focuses on developing a deep understanding of mathematical concepts, problem-solving skills, and logical reasoning. Engages students through hands-on activities, real-world applications, and exploration of numeracy, geometry, algebraic thinking, and data analysis.
Promotes creativity and self-expression through visual arts, music, drama, and dance. Provides opportunities for students to explore different art forms, develop their artistic talents, and appreciate cultural diversity in the arts.
Introduces history, geography, civics, and cultural studies to help students understand their community, nation, and the world. Emphasizes global citizenship, diversity, and social responsibility through project-based learning.
Focuses on physical fitness, health education, and overall well-being. Encourages an active lifestyle, teamwork, and sportsmanship while also incorporating lessons on nutrition, mental health, and mindfulness.
